Thanks for the suggestion, but it wasnt that in the end- the brake shoes had seized in the pins, and one of the shoes actually sheared into two pieces, riding ontop of the other- never seen that before! So its all back together now, so fingers crossed it'll work ok. ;)

Managed to lose one of the rear linkage arm balls and its retainer plate/bolts, (tractor end of the lift arm). What size ball would I need? and is the retaining plate easy to get hold of,of should I make one? Sorry if its a gaumless question,but thought I`d ask those that know best! Cheers.

Really? My soils well draining,almost sandy.Most of the land is gently sloping,and my zetors supposed to lift about 1700kg if I remember rightly in fine fettle. Thanks -maybe a 3 furrow is worth a try?
