    Hi Mike, many thanks for your help. In the event a nut (about 30 mm) halfway up the steering column was found to be loose. Tightening it has solved the problem. Many thanks indeed, Richard

    I can turn the steering wheel more than half a turn without any movement outside the steering box. Is anyone aware of an adjustment possibility -- or is it something really dire in the worm drive or elsewhere?
