Just got back from looking at the above mentioned problems. I took the pivot pin out of the linkage at the slave cylinder and the brake can be moved by hand. The pedal is also free now. So it looks like it is a bad slave cylinder.
Now to the PTO. We adjusted the cable tension and it still will...
We looked at it a little the other evening but didn't have much time available. Between my regular job, baling hay and my side business there hasn't been a lot of free time lately.
We may look at it more tonight while having a few cold ones. We'll probably loosen the slave cylinder and see if...
We looked at this last evening. The left brake pedal is really stiff so it could possibly be the brake cylinder. Even if this is the problem we are probably going to have to replace the brakes because they were HOT and the pads may have been ruined.
I am thinking that the heat may have caused...
The brake cylinder seems to be functioning okay. It seems like the brakes inside are where the problem lies.
I'll look into this some more this evening and post what I find. We really don't want to take it to the dealer as they charge an arm and a leg just for labor.
We were out cutting hay and the left brake partially locked up. When this happened it also caused the PTO hand clutch to not disengage. We are thinking that the left brake broke inside the housing and is somehow causing the pto to malfunction as well.
How do you access the brakes on this thing...
