12111 thoughts

localish dealer got in a 12111. 4 speed, high low, torque multiplier (total 16) 2500hrs. 6 cyl engine. good shape overall. whats everybodys thoughts on these machines? im thinking of getting another tractor to run haybine, manure spreader, snowblower, etc to save hooking everything up on only 1 tractor. new to zetor , getting tired of john deere ripping me off.

I had 2 of them over the years, good tractors lots of power both of them were 40k so stopping in an emergency was fun. it had a good turning circle and made a great 6 pot noise.

the only down side the last tractor only had one small diesel tank and she could burn that in a day at silage.

was it just the slave cylinder giving issues generally for the brakes or something more in depth? we farm in a rather hilly section of ontario canada on a busy highway. what about the engine - is it zetors own design and manufacture, or something jobed out to another manufacturer? info seems hard to find on the 12111. there sure arnt many on this side of the pond. would hate to put out money on it when nothing but problems and have to listen to the wife. asking price is 13500$ cad

The brakes works fine on those tractors it is just the brake technology on the 40k was same as the 25k ones and they just weren`t designed to stop quick enough if your pulling a big trailer without hydraulic brakes.

The engines were all Zetor except for the ones with a Perkins conversion but they easy spotted as the exhaust pipe on the right side. I had a 12145 and 12111 never did any work on them engines, a pto and lift problem was really only things. but they were tractors made in the 1990s and the last one was sold in 2010 so we got 6000 euro for the 12111.
