swap the stump. the stump is stored in a hole on the right side into the transmission housing, when you take it out, a lever falls which puts it in 1000rpm.
At least thats what i remember... We had one for 10 years but never used 1000rpm pto so i'm not sure.
the stump has a deep hole in it if you weld a bolt in the hole flush of end and stick it back it . your be working in 1000 , leave it out when you want 540. that stump will fit pto pack at back . if the stump is missing you can use a round bar will measure my stump to give you the correct size
I have found the 1000 shaft and tried to put in back in with washers in the hole but the shaft then fails to turn on the rear end. It seems like its in neutral.
Do i have to move the lever on the cab floor, OR have i not put enough washers in to fill the recess in the 1000 shaft.
hi jack to be honest i would not put washer in ithink they can fall out into bell housing i think 12 mm round bar or bigger fits it nice cut in of flush the hole in the middle of washers might not be letting it pushing in far enough i did 1 were had to leave the bar a bit longer would not work other wise. the pto lever should be set at 540rpm but dont be afraid to play around with it . its designed that when you take out 540 shaft at back and fit in to side of tractor it pushes lever into 1000. your see the 540 shaft is solid at end . and 1000 shaft is hollow at end all your doing is fooling the system thinking the 540 shaft is in the side of tractor
i'll try some bar tomorrow and have a fiddle with it all, as for the washers i did lose some in the bell housing when i took the bar back out, but i recon theres enough muck in there to stop them boucing around.
