Just bought a 16045, 1980 and seems sound machine from what I can see. Have read here that this tractor should have 12 x 8 gearbox, mine has full 16 x 8 box, apx 30km/h on 18.4x34 tyres.
Do I need to avoid using a gear under load to preserve gearbox, if so, which one?

Also, some previous owner removed the rear wheel weights, does anyone know where I might find a set in Ireland or UK?

Officially they removed the 1st speed. The 1st has the most reduction, and therefor puts the most torque on the transmission.
Heavy draft work can be done in 4 low as well, as its about the same speed. Use the 1st for pulling off with a heavy trailer only, not for continuous draft.

Thanks, will handle with care in 1st then. The bolts on the gearbox look like they never have been touched, this must be one that slipped through the net before they removed the cog.

Bernard Holloway, journalist in Tractor & machinery stated there were only 13 of these made. Could that possibly be right?

13 were made in Brno. From 1978 to 1981.
In 1981 the production moved to ZTS Martin, Slovakia.

Any idea hov many 12011/45 there was made in Brno???
I have a 12011,1980mod. Seems to be better quality than the Martin buildt crystals. The engine still have 4kg oil pressure in low rpm and hot engine.

did u try broggans for wheel weights isaw lots of them in cloghan&ballinasloe

Tractor was actually imported to Ireland by Broggans a few years back and his sticker is on the bonet. I'll give him a ring tomorrow and check it out.
Thanks Diyfarmer.

ok if you go around the back in cloghan there was a stack of weights on a pallet.

I am in Co armagh, Where is Cloghan. Or do you have a contact for the premisis

cloghan is in offaly micheal broggans garage ,u see them on farm&plant maz website .ps did u see the 16045 on donedeal in tractors for sale

Called Brogan and the weights he has in stock are for another brand so won't fit, but he said he would be talking to the other branch over the weekend so hopefuly better news next week...

ps That 16045 on donedeal is in my yard now, with all the silly lights removed up front, sporting a new set of 480's on the rear, brakes were a siimple fix and muguard strengthened- awaiting wheel weights to put all that power to the ground......
I then will know if all the millions spent on R&D produces any results as the "King of the hill" will be working allongside the Forterra 125. Torque reserves and fuel comparasons will be mulled over in the local watering holes (pubs)

Roll on the spring time.

u should try clarkes in ballyjamesduff ,if be closer to u ,i bought a 8245 there he used to be a zetor dearler, iwas on their web site they have front&wheel weights on it

Weights for a proxima or forterra, no problem. The flat disks for a crystal probaby have nettles growing through the holes in the farmyard long after the tractor has been sold.
Hopefuly someone trips on them soon...

i cant help you so with the right weights so ,but i keep an eye out for you in my end of IRL in future.

Got 8 weights nnd two carriers home from an ex dealer thanks to DIY farmers eagle eye. Anyone Know what thread is in the hub of a ur2, seems fine?

Renze- Any idea why there was only 13 of them buildt in Brno?
just because there wasnt more demand for it in these 3 years, 160hp was a monster in its time.
in 1981 ZTS Slovakia lost its arms production due to international disarmament treaties. To compensate for the loss of jobs, the communist central office decided to shift the production of Crystals to Martin.

Take a look at:-

This Zetor document backs what I had heard, that 4th gear was removed...
