The rear fenders and top of cab turned pink. Now what appears to be coating on the top is coming off and it is the normal color underneath. Will this cause problems with the top?

If this is glassfiber reinforced plastic, its base colour is probably pink and the red paint comes off. This particular plastic is hard to paint because the surface is so tough and smooth. It cant hurt it, it just looks ugly.
I think only the early 2000-2005 ?? models had that problem, later they switched to plastics in the right colour, with most likely no paint (the plastic itself is tougher than paint)
At work we had problems with different shades of the painted parts and the plastic parts, but on the tractors all red parts are of the same glassfiber reinforced plastic, so the colours will allways match.

Thank you. Hopefully it will be OK. Only the top and fenders turned pink. The hood stayed red.

I believe what is peeling off your cab top is the gel coat that was applied to the plastic. The red plastic underneath will eventually become brittle and crack if left exposed.
You will need to repaint your top. Just remove 4 bolts and two pins to take the top off. Scuff and paint with a acrylic paint and hardener.
It's best to just repaint your fenders, but you can bring back the color by heating the plastic with a heat gun.

You are right I think. The top and fenders have been pink for some time, but the top started peeling this past summer. No sign of peeling on the fenders (yet). Wonder why the hood and sides did not turn? Different finish I guess.

The engine hood and side panels were either painted fiberglass or plastic. The Key word is painted. The cab top and rear fenders are just red plastic with a gel coat protective layer.
The hood and side panels can be wet sanded and buffed to get restored finish(or just buffed). The rest of the tractor your better off repainting.
I usually just mask off the rear fenders instead of removing them completely. Use a quality automotive paint and about half the hardener recommended to accommodate the flexing of the plastic fender. It takes about a full days labor but you will have a great looking tractor with a finish that will last longer than the factories.
