Brakes not working on 3340. Replaced master cylinders, bled brakes and clutch with new fluid. I can pump up the brakes pedal, but no brake function. They are enclosed brakes, but told NOT wet brakes. Told the pads might be bad, or everything rusted after sitting for awhile. Any thoughts or suggestions before trying to pull the roll bar off and pull out the axle.
Also, any knowledge on the plug at the lower part of the case around the brakes or why I can't just pull the wheel off and the case and check the pads?

Can I remove the covers to check if they are moving or is there a way to tell from the outside?

Here are some pictures

Hi
The brakes are on the inner end of the axel, not in the portalgear.

So I'm way off on what I need to do and where I am looking. No one around here really wants to touch this because they don't know what they are getting into. Is there easy way to check or fix before tearing everything apart?

Take a pivcture of the middle section of Your rear end. and i will tell you were to look. need to see it because they might be different in other markets.

Does the 3340 still have the old drum brakes, or did dry disks became standard on all the 10 series models ? 8011 disk brakes were optional on the 72 and standard on the 7745, and the Super got wet Knorr brakes. Im not sure what the 10 series had ?

i suspect dry disc, but some markets may have other fitted, so until i see a Picture of the rear end i cant tell. but most likely dry disc like 7745. at least thats what my 6340 has.

From what I read on how to tell drum, to disc, to wet disc they are drum. I just found a guy that said he would look at it. Thanks for the help . I will post what he finds and all he does to it.

I dont think the 3340 was delivered With drum brakes. do you have 2 plastic covers on each side of Your rearend. if so you have dry disc brakes. these tractors never had wet discs.

Indeed , wet disks came in 1997 on the successor of these, so if they are disk they are the dry disks of the UR2. They arent 1:1 exchangeable but many parts can be swapped with an 8011

Got them working. I knew the original problem was the MCs because I finally had some firmness in the pedal after changing the Master Cylinders and bleeding everything the pedals piston rod needed to be adjusted. hey are very touchy so a half turn does alot. Turned it too much and they locked up, but found the right setting. The way to tell if they are Drum is the lid with 4 bolts on the rear side of the diff housing. Dry Disk has actuator and wheel cylinder on the rear side of the diff housing. Wet Disk has only a hex plug on the rear side of the diff housing. These were drum brakes.
