I just bought a 3340 with 960 hours on it. Never owned a Zetor before. The 3340 is replacing a reliable White 2-60 4WD which has 11,000 hours but still runs quite well. I have lots of questions but will try one or two at a time.
1- What is the function of the compressor?
2- Is there an operators manual and a separate Service/Repair manual available?
3- Does anyone use synthetic engine oil or do most of you run a good brand regular diesel 15/40 or maybe thinner in the winter?

Thanks for any help .
Regards
Peter

Synthetic oil works, but mineral Home Depot 15w-40 is good enough for this engine platform from 1958. They didnt have that fancy stuff when the basic design for this engine family was layd out.

Compressor, you can inflate tires with it. To use air brakes you need an air tank and a shutoff valve, without it it blows something up when you dont disengage it with no air hose attached. Ive heard it beating the keyway loose, causing the fuel pump (driven from the same shaft) to wander off timing. That happens when you let it pump against a blindcap for months.
