3340 Front Axle problem?

I just noticed the right front wheel on my 3340 is leaning! I'd guess the top of the tire is tilted out 2 cm and the bottom is tilted in 2cm. (The left wheel is straight up and down.) The wheel doesn't wobble and seems to function ok. I don't know how long this condition has existed.

Any idea what is happening? How serious is this and is it something I can wait until Spring to fix? I use the tractor every day to feed livestock, move snow, etc.

Thanks, Doug

Hi

You need to jack it up and see if the movement is the wheel bearings or the hub pivots.
If it's wheel bearings don't use it, as it'll cost you a packet if you mess the gears up inside the hub.
If it's the hub pivot and it gets really bad you could damage the axle.
There are 2 different axles on that model. Carraro and Zetor .

Thanks, I'll jack it up and check it out. It may be obvious but I'll ask anyway... How do I tell if it's wheel bearings or axle pivots?

Oh, it's a Carraro axle.

I think the carraro axle has sliding bushings, where the Zetor axle had oversized tapered roller bearings (which were used all the way up to the 16045 front axles)

If it were mine, i'd fix it ASAP. I just hate to damage an axle housing bore just because i kept postponing to replace the bearing bush... Mostly the collateral damage exceeds the initial defect by a factor 2 or three...
