I have used the search function on the forums and did not find exactly what I was looking for, normally I do. Thats why you don't hear from me much.

I have had various hydraulic leaks (nothing major), mostly lose connections. Well my loader is starting to "studder" at times. I checked my gearbox oil. I think its low but I want to make sure I don't overflow it. I understand it should be filled until it makes contact with the dipstick, is this correct?

I have read its this for other various models but would like to confirm it on the 3340.

Hi Guntar

There are two lines on the dipstick. Fill it up to the top mark (approx 4 or 5 cm from the bottom of the dipstick) with the loader down. It has Universal oil in it.

A follow-up question. Is it ok to use John Deere Hyguard hydraulic oil in here. I have some left from a previous JD I owned.

Edit here : Just found this listed as applications on JD website "Zetor : OT-H, GL-4" I don't know what those are but figured I would just put that out there.

Doug

PS. Thanks for the quick reply and there are no marks on my gearbox dipstick.

Hi

Not sure about the JD oil but if you used it in the transmission it's probably okay. I wonder if the dipstick has broken off !! Perhaps someone can measure one for you. Alternatively drain it all out and put in 32 litres. Then make your own marks.

Mike,

We had one Zetor , that was "grinding" oil stick half. Some rotating shaft did reach sometimes to oil stick. Maybe same could be possible in this case too?

Thought, it cut stick so high that if there is even some oil at the end of stick, there is least enought!

Upon closer inspection I did find the 2 marks on the stick. I filled until just past the bottom stick.

Loader is working fine now. I will have to watch it. Hydraulic oil was clean and clear.

Thanks for the help .
Doug
