4320 PTO problems

I have an olde model 4320 with a loader and everytime I engage the PTO with hyd it pops out of gear sometimes quickly and sometimes it will stay engaged for awhile it will stay engaged wothout hyd (ground speed) any words of wisdom will be greatly appericated. Mark

The only easy fix item is the spring loaded gear lock which is located on the top of the gearbox cover under the cab floor. Does it locate positively when you put it into gear ? If not it could be the gear lock spring broken.
If it's not this, it could be a cracked selector, selector loose on selector rod or the edge off the teeth on the gears.
