Hello.New to forum.Have a Zetor 4712 with difficulty starting.Sometimes goes on first turn and othertimes takes several.
Wouldn't start today despite several turns and i noticed smoke from the starter lead that goes to the alternator.New starter needed?

Hi, does it have the original fuel hoses on it? If so, get some new 5/16" fuel hose, and replace it! The original hose is garbage, cracks, and lets air in the system, making it hard to start.
Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Aaron.

No problem on the pre 1980 models, those were gravity fed, with the tank in the bonnet. Those models never draw in any air, they just start to sweat if the hoses really get old.

Cleaned up and tightened the connections like you suggested Tom and it worked.Starting no problem now.
Thanks for all your prompt relies.Great forum.
