5011 starting problems

Have got starting problems from cold with the 5011. Checked a cleaned all connections in s/system to no avail. battery shows as full,throttle wide open and primer button depressed, a little smoke from exhaust but very slow turning over. Any ideas please. Was good starter upto about three months ago. No changes to timing ect

Hi Nick

Sounds like one of the following:

Battery poor, alternator not charging (fan belt loose ?), poor connection on earth wire or the starter getting lazy.
What have you tried ?

we too have a 5011 which is never any problem to start from cold!! you need a new battery!! been there done that, had that problem!! also make sure the earth strap under cab (by the diesel tank) has clean connections.
