I aquired this tractor from my grandpa a few months ago. Ever since I can remember the lever that controls the 3-point height does nothing for the first half of the throw. At the mid point it will start to lift and will the lever all the way back it will raise to the proper height. ( The marks on the lift cover and right arm line up). I had the cover off today to replace the lift piston with the updated design and adjusted the controls per the service manual . It still only starts to lift at the midpoint on the control lever. The 3 point goes up and down full travel. It acts the same in draft, mixed, and position settings. The linkages inside the cover are in good shape and no missing parts. What am I missing?

Thanks in advanced.

Steve.

Its normal. If you push it fully down it will start to lift again as some sort of weight transfer.

What I would do is, Put a heavy weight on the back and lift to the last and mark the place where the lever is. Then let it down slowly and watch where the lever stops when the arms are down to the last.

And maybe the lever doesn't need to travel all the way forward and back, for the arms to go entirely up and down.
