Thank you for the preceeding assistance. I worked out what most of the controls are for, HOWEVER..................

I'm still confused by the short lever in the center of the lift control valve. It appears to be labeled 'P-M-D'....and I can not figger out its purpose.
For those of you that have the "Zetor Parts Manual , Unified Range I, Zetor 5213/5243, 12/91", please refer to page 135, Pc. 10, P/N 5213-8207, selector lever P-M-D" for an illustration of the lever in question.

[I recently received the Parts Manual, and the Operator's Manual is on its way (thanks to EBay!!]

Thanks in advance,

Hydraulic control of the three point linkage:

P = Position (hold lift arms in a fixed position)
M = Mixed
D = Draft (use this for ploughing)

Early 3pt linkage tractors e.g. Ferguson 20 did not have this. The lift arms were either fully up or fully down.

Control is achieved by link sensing (top link or lower link depending on tractor), comparators and an internal hydraulic control system (heavy duty spring).

Thank you, Tom !!
It seems so logical once ya' here it explained !!!
