Hi All,
I have a 5245 that shows 1400hrs, it was running decent then seemed to over rev when day when pulling another tractor. We could not get it to run on more then one cylinder. So one thing led to another and I started taking it apart, when i took the heads off I noticed the exhaust valve was touching the pistons on all the cylinders. I talked to a guy and he said it is likely out of time, so I took it further apart, timed it correctly (according to shop manual ) and the exhaust valves are still touching the piston. So my next step was removing the cam, it was a little hard to get out but I got it, it seems fine. I also checked all the bottom end bearings, everything in the engine seems to check out fine. I don't know what else to do. Stumped, any help would be great.
