Hi all,

When Lifting any implement with the rear linkage on my 5711,It pulses up and down on most settings, but not always-is this worn seals or just because the oil reads only 1/3 of the way on the dipstick and needs topping up?
The small lever to the right side of the seat has I think 3 settings with S,M and P next to them-what do these stand for,and when do I use each of them?Any advice useing linkage would be good,as I dont want to harm it unnecessarily!
Thanks fellas.

maybee its the top linkage who are giving too mutch impuls.
Try to set this small hadle for p.m.d. on p. position kontrol.
Sorry, but my english is too bad so i can explain about position, mix,and draft control.

mostly this is fixed by some new seals on the main 3pt lift piston.

Thats great thanks.Anyone an idea of price/availability of these seals?- sorry to be vague, but dont know of any good spares sources yet.

I`m going back to England for Christmas.Anyone know of a place I can pick up some new ram seals near Southampton when I`m there?
Any help appreciated.

Its probably easier for you to get a dealer to mail the parts to where you are staying in UK. I don't think there are any dealers very near Southhampton.

Thanks for that. Can you buy these sort of seals off the shelf?

I think you would be advised to buy genuine parts, they are probably cheaper anyway ! Contact Mike (Ixer0) on this forum, he is very helpful.

Excellent thanks Dave for that, and you Mike.I`ll mail you directly for prices etc then. Thanks again.

Finally got the seal kit off my brother,(that was sent to him in December!) ,and fitted it this weekend just gone.
When I took the top cover off,and the cylinder out,the piston only had the cast piston ring on it-no sign of the other 2 plastic seals! Put all the new bits back on and hydraulics are Much better/more positive now-Thanks very much Mike for the kit.

Will the seals take long to bed in? The bore was lovely and smooth, and I was careful to not damage anything. The arms still drop a little ,very slowly under load, and if I turn the engine off with the link arms up-they return to the ground in a few hours. Maybe I`m being a winger!! Is there a special way to leave the linkage controls to keep the arms in the up position? ( I still dont know what the SMP lever settings mean?!)
And lastly,on the Dipstick under the steering wheel for the gearbox/axle,theres 2 marks- one about 15mm from the end of the stick(low level I suppose),and the other about 80mm from the end (High?). My fluid levels halfway between the 2 marks-is this ok?
Thanks all.
