5718 Lift pump problem

I have a problem with my 5718 zetor . I have put a new tank on. After getting all the air out of the system, I started the tractor, it ran for a bit then cut off . It did this for 2 or 3 times.
When I pump the lift pump 4 or 5 times and start the tractor, it goes for 1 or 2 mins then stops, but if i keep pumping occasionally it keeps going. There is no air in the pipes, or in the main injectors. Is this a lift pump problem or does anyone know if there is something else I can try before spending 90 on a new pump.

have you checked all lines are clear ? and is the fuel cock open ? on my 3011 i often accidentally kick it shut with my wooden shoe when stepping on the tractor.
