Hello everyone. Our pony club has a zetor 5745 which I am sort of responsible for looking after.

The dipstick next to the gears stick is not registering any fluid, so I wonder what spec oil to top up with?

Is this oil for both the transmission and the hydraulics?

When I am filling this oil, should I have the hydraulic rams on the loader unextended, so I don't overfill it?
thankyou for your help !
Cheers
Michael

yes, dipstick is for rear end, and remotes and 3pt lift take their oil out of the gearcase. Fill with 10w/30 multifarm STOU or just 80w/90 gear oil.

dont bother about 3pt lift, it takes only a few liters. The tranny holds about 35 so you wont notice.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I would also like to know what the placard on the instrument panel which says "max stop 5min " is about?

And is the best rpm in the green "econ 540" band on the tacho when slashing with the pto on 540?

Cheers
Michael

It is about the PTO clutch:

dont disengage the PTO by means of the clutch, for more than 5 minutes, but put the PTO out of gear and drop the clutch lever again.
If you leave the lever pulled up for more than 5 minutes, you can burn the clutch. I had that with the 5245 once, when spreading manure. when i was back on the road, after a mile the tractor started lugging down and smoking. I found that i had the PTO still in gear with the clutch lever pulled up.
