Hi.
Have just broken front half shaft, when driving in snow drifts.
Does anybody know where I can obtain a replacement.

Failing a replacement, is it possible to fit a front axle from a 6748

Many thanks.
Matt

If you have an axle from 6748,i would use the half shaft from that as its easier than fitting the whole axle and yes they are identical.

Most 5748 were fitted with the modified GMC front axle from army surplus. The 6748 mostly had the Zetor designed front axle. Are you sure they both had the same driveshafts ?

A 5748 and a 6748 are the same tractor only difference is the fueling.as far as im aware the only other axle used by zetor until they started using carraro axles was on the 30 some thing?we had one it only had a single hardy spicer so the lock was terrible.but a great wee yoke.

Remember now it was a 3045 but it only had 4wd in the high box you sure that wasn't the gmc one it looked like a jeep axle?

6718 had a different engine, with 100mm bore instead of 95. The standard axle was the Zetor built one, though i have seen some with the GMC axle like the 3045

Just the same engine but thicker liners to reduce bore much the same as shorter con rods reduce stroke.
