6211 lift problems

6211 will not lift round rolls (or any other heavy weight), when it is warm. I suspect the pump. It also will not work at all when cold (this week this happened at 40 degrees, in east texas) but does not do this all the time, only when it feels like it. Mostly works fine cold, but at times you hit lever and it will not move 3 point at all. I believe there is a cold valve in the hydraulic circuit, could this be bad also and should I replace both. How big a job is this? Tractor is about 1985 model I think. 1990 hours.
Thanks for your help .

OK we'll start with the easiest first...Have you got the priority selector valve set to give most of the power to the lift arms?(It's a small lever on the cab rear deck near the other hydraulic controls)On my older tractor if you point the lever to the right when sitting in the seat you get priority to the spool valves, point the lever to the left and all your oil flow goes to the lift arms.

Father in law bought this tractor new and wanted dual remotes in rear, they took the valve you're talking about off and replaced it with a different valve with 2 levers (to use remotes you have to move the original remote lever while moving one of the 2 front valve levers, what a pain) but 3 point has always worked OK, just has been getting worse at lifting the last 2 to 3 years. Changed filter, cleaned metal pump screen, which was torn, ( I ordered new), and changed fluid from 80/90 wt to hydraulic fluid, at suggestion of dealer. It does lift better now but still does not work well hot. Borrowed a pressure/flow guage and tried it, best pressure we could get was 1850 to 1900, and that was cold.

I have a 6245 with a somewhat weak hydraulic pump. I plan to replace the pump , probably this coming June. I'll be sure to post the details and the results then. Or if you do yours first let us know how it went.

Is it just that there is no power, or is there no reaction at all ?

How do the external remote outlets work ? does the problem occur on the remotes ?

Has good power when it is cold, (most of the time) but has less and less lift power on the 3 point the longer you work it. Until it will not lift loads at all. Haven't paid that much attention to the remotes as I hardly ever use them. Mostly just rakeing hay and they have always worked well (although the 2 lever thing is a bother) I have used the remotes on a wood splitter and there's not much power there either, as it won't split oak logs over 8 - 10" in diameter.

If your metal filter was split then that would indicate that your pump is phucked, no filtered oil going through the pump!! You said you had 1900 pressure, 1900 what? elephants, cats and dogs, PSI or Bar.
If it was bar then god help you, if it was PSI then it is to low, it should be 2750 PSI minimum.
Also while you are down there, change the o-rings on the stack pipe
