Air assist PTO clutch was never offered in Holland on the 6211. Neither the air assisted gearbox splitter, untill we got a new importer who printed it on the leaflets and imported some demos, but the dealers didnt sell them with air splitter. (crude version, just an air operated dog clutch which works without foot clutch, but rough) i think the air splitter was only offered in eastern europe. It would have been nice though, but the foot pedal was crap because you had to keep your foot on it to keep it in low. If it had a tumble switch like a truck, and wouldnt change gear untill the clutch has been depressed so it cant be misused (just like the Tatra gearbox) it would have been welcome here. The gap between 4 and 5 was way too high in the 5245 for transport with either heavy weights, or in hilly country, and the other models with different layshaft speed, would also have benefited from it. high 1st, low 5th and high 2nd were a row of great working speeds for the 5245 but useless for a 2wd because it would only spin in high 1st or low 5th. The splitter would have been nice to close the gaps between 2-3-4-5...
Anyways, thinking back, most western European importers never sold the crash type air splitter because it wouldnt last if abused, but if they put an electrically operated air valve in the line that had to wait for the button under the clutch pedal to give permission, it would have been a very durable and usable solution.... Dang, i think they still need to do that on the basic Proxima and offer that solution worldwide... It would set it further apart from the Major. And they can drop the Proxima Plus because the price difference with the Proxima Power is too small, the Plus just doesnt get sold here in Holland. Perhaps they would make better profit if they sold another Power instead of keeping the Plus alive... Or is the Proxima Plus popular in other parts of the world ??
Don't wire them together, that will operate the clutch solenoid. Just tape over the ends and accept you have no vacuum assistance for the PTO clutch
Does a Proxima have air assist, or full air operated PTO clutches ?
