Hi All,
I have a 4wd 6245 and I'm getting a grinding noise from the front hub assembly. I have juacked it up, removed the wheel. There is no wobble in the wheel, but the wheel jams when turning by hand. My zetor dealer has told me it needs a complete new assembly and it can't be split. Is this correct? Or can I split it and replace the worn parts? The cheapest assembly I can find is 800.
Any help , greatly appreciated.
Dan

The front hub is repairable & parts are available to repair the front hub. We can supply the parts you require to repair your hub or repair your unit for you. www.zetor -dealer.co.uk

My 7045 with the same set up on the front axle , had grinding upon delivery. Don't use it or things can suffer damage.
If you undo the outer hub oil filler cap you should be able to tell if it is a rust problem with water in the hub. The bearing cover cap can also be removed to get a look in. If water and rust are the trouble then dismantling will well be needed. The roller cages carrying the planetary cogs can be replaced with bronze bushes for a simple short term fix.
The large seals may well be leaking so the oil has been lost and water allowed in. Runny grease may serve you for a temporary fix also but I wouldn't use the tractor until you have identified what is damaged and set it right.
There is a bit of work involved in the dismantling and you may find other things on the way. Good luck
