6245 wet lines

Hello all, having problems with my wet lines on my 6245.
I drained the hydraulic fluid from the tractor, after refilling everything seemed to be working fine. Well I hooked up the baler to bale for the last time this year, got in the field and the wet lines have zero pressure on them. Anybody have any ideas what is wrong? Loader works , 3 point works, selection lever is in pto wet mode. Im wondering if the main hydraulic pump is working? Is there a way to find out? My neighbor tried to help me figure out why I wasn't getting any pressure at the wetlines. He disconnected the hoses going to the loader controls, when he did this it sheared the key way in the secondary pump located on the engine crank. Now no loader or 3 point. I have since replaced the key way and loader and 3 point are working again, making me believe primary pump is not working. Has primary pump lost prime?
Any ideas?

perhaps the suction screen plugged, its an aluminium plug with (i think) a 27mm hex head which you can undo under the rear axle. There is a spring loaded cap above it that makes sure you can take it off without draining the backend, but if its really dirty it might not seal well: Allways keep a bucket under it as it will allways spill some.

Over here in the UK when the engine driven pump is fitted the pump inside the tractor axle is removed so there isn't a primary pump. Not sure what system is used in your part of the world. If the linkarms will lift then it sounds like the diff valve stuck in your valve chest mounted inside the top hydraulic cover. This valve switches between linkage and spool valve.

The main drain plug is aluminum with a magnet, you must be referring to another hex head other than that one. What your saying is I can clean the filter without all of the fluid draining out, now I must find it.. I'm not sure where it is your referring too, but will take another look.

Im in the US, always assumed there were 2 pumps on the tractor. Interesting there may only be one. If the filter cleaning doesn't help , im guessing its time to take the top cover off.

I think you'll find the oil will pour out if you undo the aluminium plug on a front pump model. I can't remember if there is a filter or magnet on it but be prepared for a lot of oil to gush out. You should have a spin on filter under the cab on the r/h side if it's the same as the UK kit. If the arms work it's probably not a filter problem.

You are correct, when I removed the aluminum plug under the draw bar , it drains the whole system. So now I guess I need to remove the top plate. What am I looking for once top plate is removed, anything I need to check or replace while I'm in there?

Hi

If you take the chest right out of the top cover you'll find a valve under the 2 plugs which run across the valve chest (opposite way to the spool valve). The caps are held in with spring clips. Make sure the valve is free and replace the 'o' rings.
