I need to replace the water pump on my 1995 model 6340 and the process seems fairly straightforward according to my workshop manual . The book assumes the radiator has already been removed, but I was wondering if this is necessary, in order to unbolt the fan. Has anyone managed the job without first removing the rad, and/or the cowl?

Hi,

There's no need to remove the rad, just disconnect the top hose and push it forward. Put a rag between the steering tank bracket and the rad so you don't damage it. The pumps for the 6340's are pricey. I use one for a 7711 (6201 0615) and change the pulley over, thats the only difference. That is assuming you haven't got the turbo pump with the 3rd outlet.

Many thanks, I shall start the job tomorrow. No turbo fitted.
