Hi Folks - it's been a while!
I've been starting to think about a replacement for my trusty 6945. Last week I did an excavation job for a chap who runs an engineering business specialising in racing and specialist engines, who was of the opinion that it was a miracle that my tractor started and ran at all
I suppose it was something to do with the blue smoke coming out of the chimney, and the fact that the same amount of exhaust comes out of the crankcase breather these days, together with about a litre of oil per day...
OK, so, "1." My engine is overdue for a serious rebuild.
"2." I've been thinking in terms of getting a front loader, both as an asset for my excavation business and as a means of getting some income in the winter, with snow clearing work.
Today I spotted a 6340 with a very heavy-duty looking front loader, that may be coming up for sale in the not too distant future. The tractor in question is off the road at the moment for gearbox repairs (driver abuse) but when it has been professionally rebuilt it might come on to the market at around 10 to 15k euros.
As these days my tractor is needed for serious business reasons, not just for hobby use any more, I was wondering if it could be time to make an investment?
My tractoring needs are mostly for transporting my 3.5 tonne 360 excavator, and also for hay farming on about 10 hectares, as well as 'general tractoring', if you know what I mean...
Any thoughts or suggestions?
All the best
