6421 fuelpump problem

6421 very hard to start but starts first time if you tap on pump beside glass bowl. can anyone tell me what pin with spring does it is on side of pump beside bowl 22mm spanner fits

I am not familiar with the later models lift pump, dont know if they are the same. But it does sound like a lift pump problem.
