I had a similar problem with my 8441, in that the pto clutch was not fully re-engaging, and effectively burning out the clutch. Mine has a handle and a cable that engages/disengages the pto clutch. I don't know the correct terminology, but for lack of better works there is a "rocker arm" that works the linkage located underneath the tractor. Mine was froze up. As it turns out, this part is easy to take apart and with a little oil should work spin freely. My mechanic told me later that that was a common problem. Wish he had told me before I burned the clutch up. If yours is froze up too, it may not be letting the pto clutch engage/disengage. Try it, hope it helps. Keith
