Hi All.
I have a 1975 Zetor 6718 that I have had for about 8mths now.
I have had a water leak and fould the crank shaft pulley was rubbing and had worn through the bottom hose where it passes behind it against the timing chest. I put this down to bad routing of the hose by a previous owner.
I replaced the hose, but no-matter how I position it I only have a few mm clearance behind the pulley. I started the tractor up after refilling with coolant and as the hose expands with the coolant pressure/flow it has started to rub on the pulley again.
I was just wondering if anyone had had any issues with the crank pulley rubbing on the bottom radiator hose. Is there supposed to be a clamp or somethong to hold the hose back away from the pulley?
I have checked for endfloat on the crank and I do have about 1mm, which is not ideal and does reduce the clearance further, but it runs well with good oil pressure so didn't want to do a bottom end overhaul as I don't think this is the root cause. Can the pulley be spaced out to give more clearance (not sure if keyed, or taper)?
Any advice would be appreciated.
