I have recently changed the oil on the gearbox/back end of my 6718, after having noticed the level was extremely low (not had the tractor that long so still going through it).

Is the oil level checked with the dipsick screwed in or unscrewed (same question for engine oil actually?!), just incase I have overfilled it (level set with dipstick unscrewed), but don't think it should make that much of a difference and definately shouldn't leak from bellhousing.

I now have an issue with oil pouring out from the bell housing occasionally (usually when the tractor is nose down, and probably a good litre or so of oil pours out). This has happened twice now when stopping after grass topping. No noticable leaks other than when it dumps like this. Engine oil level is unchanged and the leak is relatively clean oil, so 90% sure it's gearbox oil, and it would probably explain why it was so low before the oil change.

Has anyone changed the seal on the input shaft? Does anyone know the size of the seal, part numbers or has an exploded diagram picture for me to have a look at pls.

Not sure what the set-up will be, as guess there are 2 shafts (gearbox input and hyd/pto) so guessing there may be 2 seals to change? Hopefully not a full gearbox teardown!

Any info would be much appreciated.

hi
The common corse of gearoil pouring out from the bellhouse is not the seals but that the cap holding the bearing for the ptoshaft breaks aloving the shaft to move lengtwise so the seal misses. Drain oil from the gearbox and take the forvard botom hatsj off, you vill probobly find piceses from the bearing cap there and if so you must split the tractor to mend the gearboks. I have done this tre times and on my broters 7045 a pice of the cap got betvine the pto gears and snapt the input shaft in half so dont drive Your tractor until you are serten vhat is wrong.

Thanks for the information.

Which access hatch are you refering to exactly?

Is the bearing cap you are refering to actually in the bellhousing? Did you have any problems getting a new cap?

Does anyone know of a workshop or parts manual for the 6718 I can download...preferably for free :)

Hi
The Hatch is under the front end of gearebox, the bearing is inside gearbox bolted to the bulkhead betvean pto and main gears. Parts are very isy to obtain, i often shop from:http://www.atpmotor.cz/?lang=en or:http://www.eshop-rychle.cz/ceskenaradi . Shopmaual and partsbokk kan be dowloaded from this svedish site:https://www.maskinisten.net/ ,You vill have to make a free loggon in order to download.
