6718 water pump

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and just wondering if someone could help , can i reseal my water pump on the 6718 or do i need a new one? and also what is the screw on cap for on the side of the water pump seems to be grease in there? thanks for your help in advance.

Hi there Mick,
yes it is possible to get bearing and seal kits for your 6718 water pump.Regarding cap on water pump shaft housing it's for lubricating the bearings. You're quite right about there being grease in it.A bit old fashioned but a turn or two in every now and again keeps bearings running smooth. I hope i've been some help to you.
