Tom and Dave P,
Thanks for your
help!
I've been over to see a guy called Dave Jone in Mold , North Wales, who has been working on Zetors for years (an absolutely top bloke by the way), who just happened to be scrapping various bits of worn out
zetor.
He has explained ( and shown me on one he had prepared earlier!) where the lower filter is located next to the
hydraulic pump, and also shown me how to drop the plate, adding some useful tips to watch where the bolts come out and go back as one is obviously bigger but rather cunningly another is onlymarginally longer than the others, possibly leading to sheared bolts and a load of grief for the unwary!
He has also explained that the quicke 2030 loader is limited in particular by the position of the main lift rams and that they start off virtually horizontal. He recalls carrying out some mods in the past to change the location of the ram on the bracket to alter the geometry and this helped enormously, but I don't think we'll go that far!
Tom, in answer to your earlier question, the rear lift arms will lift our 6ft grays pasture slitter without any problem, even when full of water and loaded with concrete blocks in the weight frame. (possibly around one tonne). That said, I think they should lift around 1700KG's but have never had to do so!
The rams to the loader are 70mm OD.
I'll check the output with a pressure guage tomorrow.
I'm now confident that I can check the filter next to the hydraulic pump when the
oil is dropped, without causing anything terminal and hope that there is nothing more sinister than that and fresh oil needed !
Dave also explained how to get at the lift piston located under the top hydraulic cover, to stop the recycling at full lift and it was useful ( frightening) to see how heavy the cover is and as yer man Renze has said in replies to earlier posts, you really need to prepare well to remove it to prevent damage to anything underneath. A job for another day methinks!
Thanks again for your help!
James
