Newbie here just got my zetor and no manual .

So have some simple questions and hope someone has the patience to answer.

Starting the engine seems to take 2 or 3 mins of cranking over. Is there a glow plug switch or something that I am missing?
I heard from the dealer (not a zetor dealer) that there is a hand lever you are mean't to pump to start it but he was not sure where it was.

When I press the lever down to shut the engine of it takes 3 or 4 mins to stop the engine, is this normal? as my old Ford shut down as soon I pulled the engine off switch.

The high and low range lever which way should it be moved to swap? as it is stuck in low and can seem to move it anyway to get it into high. It was in high when I got it delivered then I swapped it but cant get it back.

The 4wd lever what do I do with it to engage the 4wd since the back wheels keep spinning in the mud.

Is it true that you should not drive it with the 4wd engaged on a hard surface. If so why? Does that include snow and ice covered roads in the winter? (I live in Finland).

The brakes seem a bit poor and I don't have confidence in them again this dealer (new holland) said that zetoers do not have very good brakes.

Is it expensive to get the brakes and a new clutch for this tractor from a repair garage?

Are there any Forum members from Finland that can recommend a Zetor repair place in Vihti, Nummela or Karkkila area?

Hi
I can help with some of your questions 1st the stopping of your tractor it maybe that when you push the throttle down to stop it the foot throtle sticks a bit well does on mine you just need to lift it a little with your foot that may solve that.

4wd and 2wd selector needs to be twisted to the front of the cab and pushed down at the same time to engage 4wd. and twist and pull up to engage 2wd you may have to jerk the tractor on the clutch to re engage the 2wd you can drive in 4wd on snow or ice on road etc but when is dry best not to have in 4wd not sure why but i wouldnt try it.

for hi and low range ferthest position towards the fornt window is low i think and furthest pisition to back window is high the lever on the right on the flood this is and centre is neautral.

the brakes on my tractor are also quite poor but i can liove with it as i hear it is exspensive to fix.

Hope this helps
Tom

The pedal sticking for turning the engine off was spot on!
But the starting is still a mess. It takes so long to start.

The other thing is that the 4wd does not engage. I have got stuck a few times now. Even with the lever in place the front does not move. Any ideas on whats wrong?

there does not seem to be one in the cab/dashboard that I can see, there is the black start button just under where the keys go in but that is all I can find.

Is there some place I am not looking? or ?

there may be a cold start button on the front face of the injection pump.... it will only stay pushed in with the hand throttle set fully open

will look for it when I go back out. Starts first time and fast when the engine is warned up it is just cold strating. So will look for the button on the pump.

thanks!

Markku is from Finland, i think its near Lappila. He knows quite some adresses i think. Hopefully he hops by one of these days, he told me he's busy with carting muck and fall ploughing these days.
