7245 diesel pump

Hi
I had a leaking line back in Nov from the the hand pump up to the main pump,replaced the line and bled the system at the injectors and got her going again .Parked it for the winter in the shed ,went to start it yesterday and wouldn" t start.Plugged it in for a few hours [was well above zero out] and later gave it a shot of ether.It started but wouldn't stay running.appeared to be just running on ether shot.
So removed glass fuel bowl cleaned it [was Not dirty ] pumped the small hand pump and filled the bowl back up .
Tried starting no go ,so I pulled the line from the hand pump to the main pump and she squirted fuel out under pressure.Put line back on and pumped it back up and then opened the injector lines up where the meet the engine ,same as I did in Nov to bleed it .Cranked her over a bunch but NO fuel is being pumped.
I tried the fuel cantrol lever in the cab in different positions and made sure the cab lever was moving the pump lever which it was ,but still no fuel being pumped .
Any ideas??

Probably the feed pump is stuck. The piston is operated by the fuel pump camshaft and you'll find it under a large slotted screw bung.

I will take a look and see if I can see what you are referring to.
I see on other models people referring to oil levels in the pump,does the 7245 have oil in it ?
Also is there a place online that I could fine drawings and or pictures of the 7245 pump to help me see what you are reffering to .

No this series had the fuel pump lubricated by the engine pressure lubrication system so it is allways lubed.

I went and took a look at things but this is my first time dealing with the pump and I'm not sure what I'm looking for as far as "large slotted screw bung"" will I be able to see it on the outside of the pump? If so where abouts?
Or do I have to remove the pump to find it.

you must take off the part wich the hand pump and glass bowl are fitted on. thats the feed thats the feed pump. under the feed pump you will find a large slot use a screwdriver and screw the bottom out of feed pump.

I went and looked at the part you are talking about, I removed the hand pump and the glass bowl that are attched to the housing .It looks like the housing itself is held on by two 9 mm nuts that are pointed toward the ground,once the housing is removed I would be looking up from the ground to see the slotted screw correct?

correct. when you dismantle it. beware that the strong spring in the lift pump can make it pop off just as the last screw comes out, and you may loose one of the 9 mm screws if you are not aware of this.
