well lads------- just wondering is it a big job to convert my 8011 to 4wd

The easiest way to do this is to buy an 8045 and merge it with your 8011 to make one good tractor out of two.

However getting hold of an 8045 at reasonable cost may not prove so easy. Certainly in Ireland and GB, old Zetors are being purchased for export back to mainland Europe (Poland in particular).

thanks for that tom--- but another question.... can i split my 8011 at the engin/bellhousing and mate it with the front of a 8045.... will the transfer box bolt off 8045 gearbox and onto 8011 gearbox

Your easiest way is to put your engine into an 8045 . simple bolt-up job.
Yes I think the front axle drive unit will bolt onto the 8011 rear end. but you will need the oil supply pipe from the pto/ TA unit to supply low pressure (175 psi) oil to the clutch pack.
Also think about the front axle mounting , I'm not sure ( and it's raining too much to go outside and check our 8045 and 8011), but I think you may need the front end casting as well.
Hope this helps, Dave

thanks for that----- another one for ya...... my 8011 engine is poor and i can buy a 8045 with very poor cab , gearbox and clutch nearly gone but with v good engin ----------- will the 4wd match up with my the back end of my 8011

i've been told that the 2wd versions just didnt have the gear and shaft behind that cover plate where on a 4wd version the prop shaft stub is. But i cant check that because we dont have one anymore since 8 years.

If You've got a good engine and gearbox on your 8011 you could split it in front of the back axle, behind the gearbox, and build it up like that, then replace the clutch.
But be warned, changing the cabs over is not a quick job. We changed an 8011 cab last year and the labour charges were too high to want to do it again !!

Changeing a cab cant be more work than changeing a clutch, because you'll have to remove the same amount of tach cables and wires. If you replace the clutch, you have everything disassembled already so unbolting the 4 cab rubbers and the gearlevers cant be that much of a job.

What took the time was the hydraulic levers !! We were replacing an Ursus C385 cab with a Crystal one and had to take the levers off the pedestal. On reflection it would have been easier to cut out the cab floor section and weld or bolt it back in afterwards.

thanks for all the info lads----- but im still wondering if the transfer box for 4wd shaft will transfer off the 8045 gearbox onto 8011 gearbox so that all i have to do is split the two tractors at the bellhousing and swap them around

99% no, but don't know Zetor inside

I converted my FIAT420 tractor to 4wd.
Need to disassemble complete gearbox, take differential out, install a driving teethgear on driveshaft, assemble again and then add a dropbox. It is simple, mechanic gearbox with 6F+2R speeds!!!
Front part was not a problem.

BUT, if you want to keep your tractor, you can do as I did, replace a worn parts, and you will have good tractor forever!
But, it will be one winter job in big enough barn, warm, of course.

Good luck!

Paul, you could always take the plate off the transmissio and see if the gears look as if they could take the drive box.
The Zetor manual says " The multiplate clutch is driven from the bevel pinion via the face toothed transmission and intermediate gear". Work that out if you can. The diagram isn't any more help either.
I have changed the front axle drive housing after I had a disagreement with a log and cracked it, but I can't remember what was immediatly inside the cover. Park the tractor Across a steep hill to avoid having to drain the oil

thanks for all the help .......... checked it out , the 2wd ones have no gear drive for 4wd and gearbox needs to b dismantled to put in the gear ...... not for me
