Just bought one, and need to tighten up the steering. Is there any way of adjusting the steerig box,as there is a fair bit of slack in it. Everything else seems to work fine, and its really only the mud guards which need attention. Any good part suppliers?
Thanks

i had to have new steering shaft and nut made for the steering box, mudgaurds best price on www.ibeno.cz
they happy to supply over here

I've put on 2 new trac rod ends, and have the bushes for the centre pin, but will have to look at the box down the line.
Still trying to figure out the hydraulics and PTO.

Hi,

I got parts from this guy for my 3045 and sent over to N. Ireland for a farily decent price also.

Good luck

Yep, Cecil has been very helpful and was a lot cheaper than anywhere else for the silencer. He keeps quite a lot of the older parts, and is ordering some things for me at the moment. Any of you boys know why the 4WD only works in the high range, seems the front wheels are always in high ???

Yes, its because the 4wd gear runs on the hi/low gear range gearwheel. The 5545 had the new, reinforced and longer transmission, which had an extra idler gear on the reduction layshaft which transported the rear axle pinion speed to the 4wd shaft.

Thanks, was the 3545 the same arrangment as the 5545, or still the same as the 3045 ?

3045 and 3545 had the same rear end. Even the 4712 used the same gear wheels as the 3011, it just had longer shafts to accomodate an oil pump drive independent of the PTO drive, which made it a bit longer.

Thanks guys,I'm a bit disapointed that the FWD doesn't work in low:(, as I want to use her to plough in the odd match, but she may be slow enough in H1. Apart from that I'm looking forward to doing other odds and with her, once I get her tidied up a bit:).
Paddy.

Let a bit of air out of back tyres and the old girl will plough like a goodun.;)

Front tyres are new. and have been offered a set of rear radials for 170 each, which seems good value, and they match the fronts, so will probably fit them. To quote an old friend, That'll do me my day.;);)

the 3011 is pretty light. I swapped the pump with an identical one from a 4712, but never got to turn the happy screw back to 3011 setting. Mine spins in 3rd, and in 2nd on reasonable soil. I think even with 4wd you run out of traction before running out of power in 1st high.

Well, I managed to get the hydraulics working again, with the help of a rubber hammer >:) I think it was just a stuck valve.
the tractor has been in storage for 6 + yrs. She lifted a 4 furrow
Kneverland plough and held it up even with the engine stopped :D
Still havn't got to use her yet though.
