I use one at my Digger. Those actually gives you more torque, not speed. Torque is needed at cold temperatures, when oil is sticky and hydr pumps and transmissions are not possible to un-connect while starting.
Anyway, Zetors should start at -12 if it rotates even slowly. Is there air in the fuel system? When injection nozzles are changed? Filters? Is there compression enought (worn engine)? Is injection timing correct and is cold starting device ok?
Least all our Zetors have been starting fine down to -25 degrees, and with 0W-40 oils or electric pre-heater them will start down to -35 degrees fine. Thought we use 225 Ah batteries in UR1 And 2*125 Ah batteries connected to 24 volts in UR2.
Well, i did a service on the startermotor, one brush spring was defective but it will not start even now when the starter is OK.
Changed fuel filters, checked fuel pressure on the return from injection pump, it was over 0.7 bar so i believe its OK, it gets diesel to the injectors but no start, its -10 so its not that cold.
It has only 700 hours on the clock so it should not have low compression.
The problem started after I forgot to open fuel valve on the tank and tryed to start it.
Its a Ursus C-355 and it have no cold starting aid of any kind.
Dont have it, but it has not been a problem before.
It does ignite but not running, can it be a feedingpump problem?
I have over 0.7bar fuel pressure on the retunpipe so it does pump.
I allmost started to removing nozzles to check injection pump, but then i noticed that exhaust pipe doesnt have a draining hole at all. I drilled 5 mm hole and took a heater and voila! It started again
Mine has a drain hole but its full of rust, with a proper battery it did start fine in -16, now its -20, so if I'm the mood to torture it to start just for the fun to how easy it is.
