The diesel I buy today is a mix of up to 7% RME (Biodiesel) and pure diesel. Pure diesel is not sold any longer. I have heard that there is risk with RME in old tractors. RME seems to destroy rubber hoses and seals. My 4340 is from 1993 and the question is what to do to keep it in a good running shape.

I use Lucas Oil fuel treatment. So far so good. Plus always keep an eye on the rubber hoses.

I see a few fuel wholesale companies were in court for not selling low sulphur diesel.

Biodegradable oil degrades certain rubber gaskets. When i started at the wheel loader factory 10 years ago, we were just changeing back to mineral oil because the damage was more costly than the subsidy could compensate.

For pure biodiesel goes the same: all your old fuel hoses likely need replacing. The injection pumps have no problem with it
