Break Troubles Zetor 3340 (year: 1999) Ser: 8528

I have owned this tractor for a year now and this brake trouble came with it.

When using the foot brakes, every time pushing on the pedals either individually and/or together, the brakes build up to where one or the other begins to drag all the time becoming hot.

The brakes only return to normal after setting overnight.

This behavior seems to be like there is a check valve stopping the brake fluid from releasing the brakes.

I would like to correct this brake trouble.

Any idea what is causing this to happen ?

not allowed to fix it now
You have around one hour to fix such things... after that its not possible ti fix. ;)

This behavior seems to be like there is a check valve stopping the brake fluid from releasing the brakes.
No, there is no check valve in your brake.

Please first check the brake pedal play according to the specifications (workshop manual )

If that is really OK, then my next question would be which brake fluid is being used? If it is not DOT 3, but DOT 4, then this can cause the brake hoses to swell inside. As a result, you can still push brake fluid to the brake cylinders of the disc brakes, but the force of the return springs is not enough to let the brake fluid back again. Back to the expansion tank.

This is also easy to test - if it gets stuck again, simply loosen a bleeder valve on one of the seized brakes - if fluid comes out with a little pressure, I was right. ;)

Both problems mean that the brake fluid can no longer flow freely back to the expansion tank, pressure builds up on the wheel brake cylinders, the brake gets stuck.

Hi Joachim,
Thank you for your very good reply.

I have not changed the Brake Fluid and so I will be doing that when warmer whether returns.
Will also recheck the Brake Pedals adjustments and with the rear Nut (3) adjustment too.

For now I have backed off the Nut (3) adjustment which seems to be a working help .

After starting the engine I will need to press the Brake Pedals several times to pump them up,
so that the Brake Pedals are not traveling all the way down when stopping.
This is working, as it is taking a long time for the Brake Fluid to return to it normal place.
