Crystal Colour Codes

Hello all, I have a question regarding the colours of different Crystals. The earlier Crystals were red with grey cabs and engines etc. The later ones were red with black cabs and engines etc.

Does anyone know the exact year they became red and black? I have seen many varients of colour coding and often get confused. For example, I have seen red and black Crystals with a wire mesh panel around the head lights and red wheels, while I have also seen Crystals with mesh around the head lights and white wheels...

Have I confused you all with my question? ???

You've confussed me anyway!

The earlier Crystals were orange and green. Later Crystals had a more reddish cab with white and black detailing.

Does anyone know the exact year they became red and black?
