hi i still have to hand prime my 2006 7441 in the mornings.i changed the hand primer unit no change .i checked all pipes they seem fine.i changed the pipes coming from tank still no change...any suggestions

Hi,

It's very difficult to pinpoint where the problem is but it is getting air into the system somewhere. Try renewing all the copper washers, the filter rubber seal and the 'o' ring on the centre nut which holds the filter bowl on. I believe there is a non return valve on the side of the pump. It will probably be a 13mm headed bolt screwed into a larger bolt or banjo. Have a good look round the leak-off pipes on the injectors.

I would recommend going ahead and changing fuel lines and clamps first. Not expensive and definitely eliminates fuel line pin holes that arent readily obvious to the naked eye. If budget allows install aftermarket electric fuel pump. eliminates pin hole leaks in mech fuel pump. Third, remove pick up tubes from tank and install screens on end of longest tube in tank. be sure to hook up supply to longest tube and return to shortest. These quick fixes all but eliminated my fuel problems.

good luck

grego in u.s.
