when my 7741 is left overnight i have to use the hand primer to get it started i have been told it could be a banjo bolt problem on the pump............any advice.......

hi mike i seem to have no leaks as everything is dry and clean.i have spoken to 2 different people one said it cold be a bit of contamination in this banjo bolt which has a spring and a ball to stop the back flow however i dont know where this is located ,the otherchap said the prob is a worn piston in the lift pump............

Hi

The banjo bolt will be on the injection pump where the return line to tank attaches. You shouldn't have a worn pump on a tractor of that age but you could be getting air past the hand primer piston. Make sure all the banjo's are tight around the fuel bowl if you have one. Check the pipes under the cab in case they are chaffed.

Mike
