Hi, It is somehow embarrassing to say that after owning a Zetor 8011 for six months, I have yet to be able to engage the PTO. The dealer did turn it on and I watched it engaged! and the delivery person has done it after the delivery, unfortunately I did not watch how they haven done so!!! now, I keep trying, no luck!
The dealer telling me to disengage the clutch first, and engage the PTO under the seat! no need to touch the hand PTO clutch beside the steering wheel. I have done every thing, still not successful. Pleaseeee shed some light on this and walk me through. I have no more hair left!!!!!!. I appreciate your help! Thanks!

With the engine running as slow as possible or stopped engage the PTO gear lever which is the short lever on the floor to the right of the seat. When this is in gear the PTO clutch is the lever to the left of the steering column, next to the Hare/tortoise lever, just pull it down and the PTO will start turning. When you first set it going make sure its the correct speed for your implement, as it has a 1000 rpm option . If you want to change the speed there are several posts here on how to do it.
Most people leave the gear lever in gear all the time and rely on the hydraulic clutch, this has a built in brake which is supposed to stop the shaft rotating, so it doesn't do any harm when not in use. Simply stop the engine and the shaft will turn by hand to join up the machines shaft.
Dave, I have two more questions if you can please help me with;
1- Can I leave the PTO gear lever under the seat always engaged , and only engage and disengage the PTO with the lever beside the steering wheel?
2- How can I make sure I can only have 540, not the 1000? My implements can't take the 1000!. Is it only through changing engine rpm? Is there anyway to completely disable the 1000 rpm?
I have read your post on the link below, but that is for how to get 1000 rpm!
1. yes you can run the tractor infinite in either of the two positions of the lever under the steering wheel. (as opposed to the manually engaged clutch of the smaller series)
2. you can only engage 1000rpm when changeing the pto endpiece for the 21 spline stub, and putting the 540rpm stub back into the side of the transmission, under the cab. When its put behind a hatch, the length of the PTO stubs will push a shift lever that engages either 1000 or 540rpm. If you have the 7 spline end stub, you cant have 1000rpm unless someone tampered with the 1000rpm 21 spline stub in its holster in the side of the transmission.
Great! since I have only 7-spline shaft, I don't have to worry about ever reaching the 1000 rpm. Only one quick question please; I noticed when I increase the engine RPM, the PTO speed is increased, I suppose in order to reach the 540, I need to have the engine ran in higher RPM?
