My 3320 has a screw in dip stick, my question: Is the proper way to check engine oil with the stick screwed in or with it resting on the top of the threads?

Even if your dip stick was 3 foot long like the ones in Isuzu jeeps you would push all the way in but you would have a fair idea what the level but be either way.
