Hi everyone,

I have the numbers off the tractor,

but not sure of the proper way to read them,

to get the manufacture date.

Zetor 3340 Ser.: 8528

Engine Model: Z5203

Engine Numbers: 5202 0102 3
3 9 99

Is the numbers: 3 9 99 = March 9, 1999

Your 3340 can be from 1999 - but double check this with the year and month that you can find left side of gearbox as a relief.

your complete and readable serial chassis number will be: Zetor 3340-08528
The motor number makes no sense for me - better read it from the motor block, right side below the last (in front of cab) cylindre head. Its beginning with a * and it should end with a *. Possible a Z 5202 - xxxxx therefore xxxxx is a number with 5 chars. And they should be a 9xxxx or 10xxxx or 11xxxx in the 1999 production year.

I have not been able to find those numbers or any numbers there yet. I will keep looking for all the numbers that I can find. Did find these numbers on the transmission "Zetor 601801". there is some others there to that I am not sure what they indicate, see photo,

Hi Joachim,

I will try bushing (cleaning) that area up to see if it will show it more clear.

The best I have been able to make it out to be is K or M and 98 or 99.

1998 its possible from the picture.

Hi Joachim,
After cleaning the left side of the transmission it is much better
to see more of the Transmission Casting Numbers.

" Zetor 60 1801 "

12 10 98

So if the Transmission Casting Number: 12 10 98 then may be Dec.10, 1998.
And if the engine model 5203 with numbers: 3 9 99 = March 9, 1999,
I am leaning toward the manufacturing date to be in the year of 1999.
Parts to build the tractor are planed and made months ahead of the assembly and shipped out to be sold.

November 1998 is the gearbox manufactor date. :like

Its from a non english staate - we use the dateformat day, month, year and not year, month, day

If 12 10 98 Day, Month, Year, then the date would be Oct. 12, 1998.
In the states 1960's and into the 1990's it was always Month, Day, Year.
After the 2000's I started to see the Month and Day switched around with computer book data stuff, which makes it confusing on-purpose.
When any of them are over 12, then we can know for certain which is Day or Month.

Hi Joachim,
The tag on the Grill Guard is an other example.
Grill Guard 328885 Date of Production: 1999 / 09 / 15 (which is Sept. 15, 1999)

There is an EPA tag on the right side of the engine, which has a year of 1999.
Also the Engine Model Number: Z 5203
