I agree it's a pity. We'll see how I go when I get back to the farm in March.
@Joachim I'm not sure if this is the correct place (or if I should begin a new post under UR1), to ask for basic advice on what steps to take initially (to do no harm) given it's sat so long. I was thinking:
  1. Drain the fuel from tank, lines, injector pump, filters etc. (I'll have to learn how, search the forum). Should I remove injectors initially?
  2. Check the engine oil is ok to begin. I am conscious of causing damage to dry/ceased parts. Should I get something into the cylinders and/or other parts to soak/lubricate before turning over?
  3. Check radiator, fluid and hoses.
  4. Check air filter and intake is clear.
  5. New battery and check electrics (we have mice/rat problems sometimes).
  6. Get it primed with diesel (I see there are posts on how to do this).
  7. Try to turn over, see what happens and go from there.
I understand the injector pump had issues before being parked, it was towed into the paddock. I know it doesn't have brakes.
I have no idea what else does and doesn't work, but need to get it running first. Everything will need to be worked through.
I only have Level 1 forum access atm, but I have found manuals online.
Pleased to hear people's suggestions and advice.
Cheers.

I have just moved it... all OK. :)

Leave the injectors in for first try... I think so.

A good idea can be to start the engine first without hand throttle at bottom (off), so the enging can pump oil but dont start. Do so for 2 times around 5 seconds and between lat the starter cool down a bit. After that a first start cann be much safer...

Check radiator, fluid and hoses.
yes

heck air filter and intake is clear.
clean and has engine oil inside the bottom ( araound one litre engine oil)

New battery and check electrics (we have mice/rat problems sometimes).
you can try to remove most of fuses, and only let stuck the realy needed one or buy a battery master switch to fasten switch off the battery if its needed.

Get it primed with diesel (I see there are posts on how to do this).
yes, prime it up to you can hear the diesel drops back at tank.
Try to turn over, see what happens and go from there.
yes . but have tool at hand to destroy fasten the injector pipes if the engine turn up to high upms - if the injection pump regulator hangs/stuck
