forterra 10641 pto stopped working.

hi, the pto stopped working this am. You put it in gear and stop output shaft with your boot. Can hear gear noise when do this.
(Plenty of oil in b/e clutch engaged etc.) Can turn shaft by handwith some presssure. Whats chance of being easy fix?

Hi,

If you can turn the shaft it sounds like a problem in the clutch pack. Have a look through the plate on r/h side of gearbox (about 9" square with 6 or 8 bolts). Drain some oil first. Probably big circlip broken.

Thanks for response, had fitter out today. Took out pto stub and turned it and pushed in hard seemed to give solid drive with 1000 stub then re turned back to 540 and it is cured! There is a gear inside a gear ring and a sprung loaded spigot, something was sticking so it turned out well.... (since he was here, got him to help me look for a long-running electric short on a suzuki atv. which he traced and cured so all good!)
