hi all, i have a zetor 11641 forterra with the same engine which has no power, and was wondering would it be possible to change the engine for a 6cyl martin diesel engine out of a 14145 zetor? If so what would be involved is the shaft at the belhousing the same any info would be great thanks dee..

I am not sure if its the same SAE bellhousing (the Same engine is mated to the gearbox by a 40mm acetylene torched adapter plate) but i am afraid you'll have a hood that is 15cm too short for this engine. The Crystal engine was extremely spaced, 15cm center distance of the pistons. (thats why they can run stock engines in tractor pulling while others need a host of modifications to withstand the power and heat)

About power, i am not sure if the back end can take the power, the 11441 and 11741 had a reinforced clutch, and the rear end too i believe.
Nonetheless, a 14145 engine will win at low rpm, but in mid rpm (1400-1900rpm) the 16 valve Forterra engine is stronger. the last 16245 had 522Nm of torque i believe, while the Forterra 135 is doing 570Nm.

Don't bother. As ststed the clutch etc will not be strong enough. The first clutch in my 12445 only lasted 1400 hours, th modified replacement has lasted 1000 so far. Look for a fresh 12445 and you will have big lift in power and torque.
If you in Ireland I know of 2 for sale, one 5000 hour the other 2000 hour.

HSX will fulfill all your needs: good power and torque, more wheelbase than a 11441, and wet clutch.
