freeing off cold start button

The cold start button on my 3011 has stuck in, and no amount of wd 40 or messing with long nosed pliers seems to free it, although that may be due to limited access to the pump, especially as a loader is fitted. Is it ok to undo the 26mil nut that the button is mounted in so I can work with it on a bench?

You can take it off no problem. It will just overfuel if no end stop is in place to control the max fuel limit
